I haven't updated here in what seems like forever, and for a blogger it was forever. There have been many changes in my life, not the least of which is the birth of my son, Marc Antony, who made his appearance to the world 10/13 at 11:14 pm. I think he's the most beautiful baby in the world, just like every mom does... So, with no further ado...

Wow, it's been a long time since I've updated... Life got away from me.
Folks that know me have an idea of what's been going on. For those who don't, well, things
are much better now than they have been.
Had to put my oldest cat to sleep in November, so that got me thinking I wanted to put something of her up here. And of course I couldn't leave the other 2 babies out of it. So here they are. Hope is the one sleeping with the tiger & on the yarn. Theo other 2 are Wendy (the manx with the golden eyes), & Winky (the fat one). Enjoy.

Crochet goodies arrived in the mail today. This month, the crochetlist bookmark exchange theme was a share with a friend one, so we were to send 2 bookmarks instead of just 1. This picture doesn't really do justice to the surprised look on the face of the flower, but it's adorable! As a matter of fact, it's so adorable that my friend Vicky now has her very first crocheted bookmark. LOL

Here are some of the bookmarks I've received & sent in the last couple of months in the crochetlist bookmark exchange. The first 4 are bookmarks I've gotten from my partners. They do fantastic work, don't they? The last is the one I sent to my partner last month. Talk about a bookmark that took a lot of concentration to get right. But it was a lot of fun to do.

Some friends have been wanting to see what my hubby & I look like. So here you go. Hehe. The first 2 pictures I took just last night with my cell phone, so they're not real good pics, but they are the most recent ones of me.

In the star, my hubby is tormenting our Houdini, whom we remember so fondly. He was the happiest grumpy cat I've ever known & would take over my crochet by jumping up into my lap & laying on whatever I was working on. Then he would glare at me as if to say, "It's mine now, Mom, & there's nothing you can do about it." Usually he got his way. Hehe.

The next pic was taken at my wedding reception at our best friend's house. He made me a two-tier wedding cake out of cupcakes. A pic had to be taken of me holding it, & yes, I made the sweater I'm wearing in the pic. Unfortunately, after our move from New York to Colorado I can no longer find it... And the last pic is our wedding itself. I'm not sure what we're reaching for there, it's not the rings... I think maybe we were handing the wedding certificate to the official. And yes, I made my wedding dress also, though when it was originally made it was not intended to be for my wedding...

Well, that's it for this morning. I'll be doing my best to get some more crochet pics up soon. Maybe I'll manage that after I get home from work tonight. That's the intention, anyway.

Ok, I've been really bad about not updating so far this year. Just haven't been able to find the time for everything that needs doing & still working on a graphed afghan that my daughter asked me to do for her about 3 weeks before Christmas. She knew it wouldn't get done in time for Christmas, but I don't think she realized just how long it takes Mom to graph something & get it done. I don't think she thought it would take this long. Heh. But it is getting done & I'll definitely try to put a pic here once it's finished. In the meantime, here are a few pics to show how my holidays went.This is my darling daughter with what I think was probably her favorite gift of the year. Our best friend from NYC came out & had me help him finish up his Christmas shopping for her. When I saw the bear, I told him it would be the perfect companion for "Birthday Bear", which my daughter has had since she was 2. You can see what a huge success the idea was.

And here's Hubby's & my best friend, wearing the Sherlock Holmes hat I crocheted for him... of course, he's wearing it backwards, but that didn't really matter that much to him. He loved it. I'm glad I took the time to make it.
And this is my boss wearing her Santa hat, which I made from the pattern in the 2006 Crochet-Pattern-A-Day calendar. When I saw the pattern, I asked her if she would actually wear it at work if I made it, & she told me she would. So it got made, & I managed to get a pic of her in it. Can you tell she doesn't like having her pic taken? =0D

I'll be posting more pics later, I've got quite a bit of updating to do, as several projects have been finished in the last couple of months. And I'll be posting pics of the bookmarks I've received in the crochetlist bookmark exchange. These ladies (& now 1 gent also) are great crocheters & have such wonderful creative streaks that I never know what I'll be getting! So much fun!

A friend is thinking of making the Moebius Shawl by Bonnie Pierce & wanted to see someone wearing one. So I had hubby take a pic of me wearing one of mine. Not a very good pic, I know, of either me, or the shawl, but hopefully it will give her the idea she needs of how it looks. I made this one longer, because I usually wear it pinned up closer to my neck. It's wonderful for wearing at work, where I sit right under one of the vents, but is dressy enough to snazz up that slinky little dress if we ever go out, which we rarely do.

Good beginnings

Well, I've gone and done it. I've started a blog to try to keep track of my crochet adventures and mishaps. Who knows if I'll manage to keep up with it, but I'm going to try. Besides, this is going to give me a good place to display my crochet creations from friends, family, and those who just happen to come across the site.

Since this is more for my crochet stuff than anything else, I'll start out with posting up a couple of pictures of projects that I've completed in the past few months. The first one is a bookmark I made for one of my partners in the crochetlist bookmark exchange I'm a member of.
